Cátia Salgado

Cátia Salgado is a PhD student in Bioengineering Systems from MIT Portugal, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, and currently a visiting student at the Institute for Data, Systems and Society at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Cátia received the MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Minho, Portugal, in 2012. Her PhD thesis is titled “Data-based modelling for personalized medicine in the ICU”, and it is focused on the use of machine learning techniques to predict patient adverse events following admission to intensive care units. More specifically, she works in fuzzy modelling and fuzzy clustering applied to health care systems.
